IE, Opera, Avant,....which is the best?

if any other browsers pls share info

IE, Opera, Avant,....which is the best?www.microsoft.com

Firefox is the best by a long shot.

Just check out this CNET review:

Firefox is better in every way including, installation woes, look and community, tabbed browsing, cool new features, security and performance. The winner is clearly Firefox 2.

Firefox is the best...
They are all decent. It depends on the person and their preferences. You can always download each and try for yourself.

Simply put it is a matter of opinion.

Opera is a decent browser to add to your list
firefox all the way!
I used Opera for a few months about three years ago, and it was very nice except they were always asking me to buy it. I changed to Firefox because it's completely free and promises to remain that way. I have IE 7 installed for my wife and it seems to work fine, though it's the most prone to security vulnerabilities, etc.

It's hard to go wrong with Firefox or IE 7, though power users might find a definite preference toward one or the other. I haven't played with add-ons for IE, but I have several add-ons for Firefox such as No-Script, which blocks Java script on web pages until I allow them.

The biggest detriment to choosing anything but IE is that mostly every web page will work with IE, but there are many who still haven't made their sites compatible with Firefox. This was another reason I stopped using Opera, it didn't work on many web pages. They may have worked out those kinks by now as "the Browser wars" were pretty new a few years ago, but it's best to have IE 7 installed (even if you hate Microsoft) so you can view any web pages that don't work on other browsers.

The web page for paying tuition at my community college, for instance, requires IE, and behaves unpredictably with Firefox.
Firefox.

With the add-ons, I have the best web experience.

Without the add-ons I would still be using IE.
